The falcon rests within an order of reeds, facing the horizon where light emerges.

Origin
  • Carnelian has long held a place in ancient Egyptian jewellery, both as an ornamental material and within amuletic and symbolic traditions. Carnelian I draws from this history of material and meaning, bringing pearls, carnelian, and metal together into a contemporary structure.

Materials

  • Cultured Freshwater Pearls | Baroque pearls, round pearls, and seedless pearls.
  • Carnelian | Natural carnelian, cut into elongated cylindrical beads; each stone varies subtly in colour, translucency, and natural markings.
  • Vintage Glass Beads | 1950s Japan; used sparingly among carnelian and pearls. Each bead features distinctive dimpled indentations, creating subtle shifts of refraction and shadow across its surface.
  • Brass | Gold-plated brass chains and connectors; pearls are individually joined by hand with brass wire, leaving deliberate intervals that allow metal, light, and negative space to shape a natural rhythm.

Wear

    • Composed of two detachable sections, Carnelian I can be assembled at two principal lengths, then freely wrapped, layered, or worn as a single-strand drop necklace.
    • It can also be worn at the waist—closely fitted, or with additional length falling in a loose, draped curve. Extended Length is available at checkout if preferred.

    Care

    • Pearls have a naturally delicate surface. Avoid impact, abrasion, and contact with hard objects to prevent scratching.
    • Keep gold-plated brass away from perspiration, perfume, chemicals, and moisture. After wear, gently wipe with a soft, dry cloth and keep dry to help prolong the finish.
    • All plated finishes gradually wear with use, friction, and environmental exposure; plating is not permanent.
    • Store separately to prevent chains from tangling and pieces from scratching against other jewellery.
